Young Children especially tuned in to God ?
I have a question regarding my daughter. From about the age of 6 months to 5 years my daughter was especially "tuned in". She knew about a lot of things before they happened and spoke about God a lot. For example, a day and a half before 911 she put crosses up made out of post it notes in every room we owned including every closet and just kept saying that she needed to protect us from evil and that evil was coming. She was only 2 1/2 at that age. The next day I went to her daycare and asked where she had even heard that word and they had no idea of what I was talking about. Then 911 hit. Another time when she was 3 she went up to a lady and gave her a hug and told her not to worry about Hannah because she was with God now. The lady had had a miscarriage that morning and had planned to name the baby Hannah. Another day when she was 3 she saw this very disabled boy who was about 10 years old in a wheelchair who was very disfigured. She said how beautiful the boy was and said God loved him special. She also used to describe people by the colors around them until she was about 4 "the person with the purple around her" and I'd say the lady in the green or red? There were so many instances of her doing this. When she turned 5 it stopped although she still seems very sensitive, but she doesn't say things like that anymore. Also, she is 11 years old now and she seriously has NEVER been sick once and never even skinned a knee. We are not overly protective parents, she did daycare, summer camp, etc. She doesn't eat organic and we don't protect her from germs any more than anyone else. We are regular people. Raised Catholic but never really went to church much. She started public school but then insisted on going to a religious school so she could be closer to God so now she goes to a Lutheran school.
Does anyone have any thouhgts on this. I know I sound like a nut job, but I'm really not and I have no real explanation. Has anyone heard of anything like this before. Only my husband and best friend know. Its not something we talk about because, well, it just doesn't make sense to us.
Thanks for your thoughts and sorry for the long question..
any thoughts?
